INDIANOLA - The Fort Dodge softball squad dropped a doubleheader to Indianola on Tuesday night.

The 10th-ranked Dodgers (2-3 overall) lost the opener 13-0 in four innings and dropped the finale 11-1 in five innings to the No. 12 (4A) Indians.

In the opening contest, the Dodgers faced University of Northern Iowa recruit Abbie Van Vleet. The Div. I prospect did daimage from the pitcher's circle and at the plate as well, hitting a double.

"We were excited to go up against a Div. I prospect, but the wheels fell off in a hurry,'' said FDSH head coach Andi Adams. "We just need to mix it up more and we can't let them run with momentum the way they did.''

Cassie Burris had a two-run home run for the Indians. McKenzie Ellis and Emma King had doubles as well.

Lani Van Zyl and Chelsy Krantz had hits for the Dodgers.
