To the editor:
The Webster County Museum board would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who attended our recent pancake breakfast fundraiser and to the volunteers who helped with the breakfast. Also thank you to Sparboe Farmegg for their generous donation of eggs and to Friesth Construction for the use of a dumpster.
A big thank you to those who helped prepare for our opening day and the many people who came to our garage sale.
We operate on donations and welcome donations to our ongoing thrift-gift shop and invite you to shop there as it is open Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. when the museum is open.
Another fundraiser is planned for 7 p.m. June 10 at Senior High Little Theater with Smithsonian recording artists Bob and Sheila Everhart who will be highlighting music of Roy Rogers, Minnie Pearl, Woody Guthrie and Bill Monroe.
These musicians would have celebrated their 100 year birthdays this year. The opening act will be Shadric Smith at 6;30 p.m.
On June 16 we will be serving root beer floats and will honor all visiting fathers with a free float.
The museum collects and displays Webster County history and continues to add to our displays and add new items and collections. Everyone is invited and encouraged to share historical items and visit the museum.
