Belmond, Wright now Iowa Specialty Hospital

WRIGHT COUNTY Two community hospitals, Belmond Medical Center and Wright Medical Center, have officially changed their names to Iowa Specialty Hospital. This change reflects a collaborative effort of both hospitals to offer more focused, specialized care under one name to its surrounding communities and the region.

The official name for each campus will be Iowa Specialty Hospital Belmond, 403 First St. S.E., Belmond, and Iowa Specialty Hospital - Clarion, 1316 S. Main St., Clarion.

"It was with great thought and planning that one shared name was chosen for both hospitals to meet recent demand for specialty care," shares Nancy Gabrielson, chief executive officer of Iowa Specialty Hospital Belmond.

Steve Simonin, chief executive officer of Iowa Specialty Hospital Clarion, said, "As a name, Iowa Specialty Hospital further aligns our mission and vision to that of what our exceptional facilities and providers continuously offer our communities and region every day."

Formerly, Belmond Medical Center and Wright Medical Center, Iowa Specialty Hospital employs more than 500 employees and more than 30 specialists on its two campuses. Iowa Specialty Hospital is affiliated with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. For more information on Iowa Specialty Hospital, visit
