To the editor:
To all parties concerned in Humboldt County and city Iowa: I was looking for a place to drag race this weekend. (I am north 300 miles in Brainerd, Minn.) I arrived sat 2 p.m. and was given directions to the drag strip from a very nice lady at the gas station on the south end of town. I met some nice folks waiting at the gate of Humboldt County dragway. We visited awhile. As the action started, a gentlemen offered to video the event for me, and a gem of a man ... gave me a rundown on itinerary. Then another nice young man and his brother ... finished the videoing. Seems the boy had an el Camino, too.
That drag strip is a great asset to your community. Wow, they do a great job. Made me feel welcome - all parties concerned that I encountered in your community and the strip including ... at the Super 8 motel treated me like family. You can bet I will be back to Humboldt, Iowa, and the drag strip. A very nice bunch of good folks. Thank you for making me feel welcome.
