Calif. man convicted in drug investigation

A man who prosecutors said was responsible for bringing drugs to Fort Dodge has been convicted of the charges.

Jesus Quintero-Felix, 28, of Riverside, Calif., was convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and distribution of methamphetamine on Tuesday.

The jury believed prosecutors' allegations that Quintero-Felix and a co-conspirator transported meth from California to Fort Dodge on at least three occasions.

Quintero-Felix was arrested after law enforcement officers conducted a controlled drug transaction where law enforcement bought a quarter pound of 99 percent pure meth from him and others.

He will remain in federal custody until his sentencing date, which has not been set.

He faces a possible sentence between 10 years to life on the conspiracy charge and between five to 40 years on the distribution conviction.

Quintero-Felix's case was prosecuted by the United States attorney's office in Sioux City.
