URBANDALE - Make it 12 consecutive wins for the fourth-ranked (Class 4A) Fort Dodge baseball team.
Stepping out of CIML Iowa Conference play, the red-hot Dodgers (18-3 overall) posted a 6-3 road victory over Urbandale Wednesday night.
Will Gormally's bases-loaded triple in the top of the fifth inning brought home the go-ahead runs for FDSH. Luke Vandermaten, Sam Edwards, Isaac Lehman and JC Hatcher all added two hits as well for the Dodgers, who have only lost once in June - a span in which they've accumulated a 15-1 record.
Fort Dodge is now 8-1 on the road.
"I thought our team competed very hard on a strange night weather-wise," said FDSH head coach Matt Elsbecker. "I also liked the fact that we put pressure on (the J-Hawks) every inning."
Nathan Matthes (2-0) went the distance on the mound for the Dodgers, allowing just four hits with three strikeouts.

"Matthes stepped up and did what a senior should do," Elsbecker said. "He had a great performance (Wednesday)."
All three scores by Urbandale (11-11) came in the bottom of the fourth on a bases-loaded double from Kyle Gilkeson.
With the Dodgers leading 3-0 in the nightcap, the cross-conference doubleheader was officially called after three innings due to inclement weather conditions when rains hit the area. No makeup date has been announced.
Fort Dodge returns to league action tonight in a league showdown at No. 6 (4A) West Des Moines Valley (18-6, 8-2). The Dodgers lead the Tigers by a game halfway through the CIML?Iowa race.
