The Webster County Health Department will be offering a Tdap clinic from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at its office, 330 First Ave. N.
Tdap vaccination protects against pertussis, also known as whooping cough. There is no cost for this vaccination.
Grandparents, moms, dads, sisters, brothers, child care providers, who have close contact with an infant 0-6 months should receive a Tdap booster shot. The vaccination is also available for caregivers of children 6 months to 60 months. Pertussis is a highly contagious disease that causes severe coughing that can last for several weeks.
"By protecting yourself you can help ensure you don't spread this disease to your infant," said Kari Prescott, director of the Webster County Health Department.
