A joint investigation by the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office and the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of several area residents.
Stephen Ray Brown Jr, 30, Gilmore City, was arrested on June 21 following the execution of a search warrant at his residence at 2535 Birch Ave. Brown was charged with possession of stolen property with an estimated value in excess of $10,000, a class C felony. In addition, Brown was charged with 3 counts of theft in the 2nd degree, class D felonies, in relation to the thefts of motorized vehicles that were located on the property. Brown is currently being held in the Humboldt County Jail on a $25,000 cash or surety bond.
Also arrested on June 21 at the residence were Dustin Harris, 24, of Humboldt and Matthew Gagen, 22, of Mallard. Harris was charged with theft in the second degree, class D felony, and driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor. Gagen was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, aggravated misdemeanors, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Harris' bond was set at $7,000 and Gagen's bond was set at $4,200 . Both are being held in the Humboldt County Jail.
Numerous pieces of stolen property were located at the residence stemming from burglaries and thefts from Humboldt, Pocahontas, Palo Alto and Wright counties. The investigation continues and additional charges and arrests are possible.
