The Webster County Board of Supervisors tabled the consideration of a resolution of intent to enter into agreement with CJ Bio America regarding sewer and water extension during their regular meeting Tuesday morning.
The decision to table the item came because of the opportunity to add a larger pipeline that would allow for future expansion in the North Central Ag Industrial Park west of Fort Dodge. All businesses in the Ag Park have access to water and sewer services from the City of Fort Dodge.
"There is no resolution yet because it is CJ's responsibility and expense to hook up to the system,"said supervisor Clark Fletcher. "We see an opportunity for oversized pipe for sewer and water to be installed. It would be an advantage to have service expand beyond Harvest Avenue in case of any future expansion."
The cost of expanding the pipelines would be covered by future connection fees. Currently the county is working with CJ Bio America, the city of Fort Dodge and the Webster County attorney's office to to make sure the process agrees with Iowa Code.
"We look at this as an opportunity to get something done at an opportune time," said Fletcher.
