MANSON - Robert Frank Johnson, 67, died on Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Augustana Lutheran Church in Manson with the Rev. Janelle Siffring officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Manson. Larson-Weishaar Funeral Home in Manson is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his mother Lila Johnson of Manson, IA; daughter Natasha (C. J.) Potter of Houston, TX; one grandson; sisters Bonnie (Jim) Anderson of Emmetsburg, IA; Cheryl (Jim) Huss of Manson, IA; Cindy (Brian) Lenz of Onawa, IA; brother Rick (Joan) Johnson of Humboldt, IA. He was preceded in death by his father.
Robert Frank Johnson was born on Sept. 17, 1944, at Fort Dodge, IA, the son of Charles F. and Lila (VanHouten) Johnson. He graduated from Manson High School in 1962. He served in the U. S. Navy, and remained in Puerto Rico after his honorable discharge. During this time in Puerto Rico, Robert and his wife, Millie, were blessed with their daughter, Natasha. Their marriage later ended in divorce. Robert continued to live in Puerto Rico until 1996, working on the naval base as an electrical engineer, later moving to Texas. He moved to Manson in 2005 to be closer to his family.
