Nick Clark, Neil Flattery and Nate Kolacia were honored between games of a doubleheader sweep for the fourth-ranked (Class 2A) St. Edmond baseball team Thursday night at Rogers Park against Clarion-Goldfield.

The senior trio combined to record 14 hits, score 12 runs and drive in seven as the Gaels (20-6 overall, 11-4 in North Central Conference) picked up 14-4 and 13-3 victories over the Cowboys (12-12, 5-10).

Flattery went a perfect 5-for-5 in the opener, scoring four times, while Clark had two RBI in each game. Kolacia was 3-for-4 at the dish in the first contest, and added two more hits in the nightcap.

"What can you say about those three that hasn't been said a thousand times?" SEHS head coach Joe Shanks said. "They have been a focal point to all the success we have had over these last four - and with Nick, five - years. The time has flown by, and they are going to be missed when this year is over."

Hank Crimmins pitched six innings to improve to 4-2 on the mound in game one, while Clark relieved freshman Landon Peed in the second tilt, securing his fifth win of the year. Crimmins also hit a towering shot that cleared the fences in right, falling just a triple shy of hitting for the cycle. He drove in three runs.

St. Edmond, which has won seven of its last eight games and is 12-2 in the last 14, scored 21 runs in the first three innings of the two games, racking up 32 total hits in the doubleheader. The Gaels have never lost to the Cowboys since entering the NCC.
