HAMPTON - The fourth-ranked (Class 2A) St. Edmond baseball team pounded out 24 hits and scored 19 runs in cruising past Hampton-Dumont Monday night, 19-5 in five innings.
Nick Clark was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with a pair of RBI for the Gaels (21-7 overall, 12-4 in North Central Conference), while also striking out five batters.
Nate Kolacia, Hank Crimmins and Aaron Chalstrom each had four hits, with Kolacia driving in five and Chalstrom three.
"We started out with everybody hitting line drives," SEHS head coach Joe Shanks said. "It was a lot of fun to watch. The kids were focused at the plate and ready to go. They really squared everything up."
David Flattery added two hits and drove in a pair, while Tommy Setterdahl did the same. Matthew Bocken tallied two hits and two RBI, and Landon Peed plated two more.
Clark is now 5-1 on the year, with 39 strikeouts and just seven walks. He did not walk a batter last night.
