Clara "Modesta" Stringer, 86, of Fort Dodge passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha, NE.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 6, 2012 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 1:30 p.m. a Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Shane Deman officiating. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4:00 to 8:00, with a rosary at 4:30 and a vigil at 7:30.
Modesta is survived by her husband, Raymond; children, Yvonne "Bonnie" Peterson of Omaha, NE; Shirley Stringer of Madison, SD; Carol (Edward) Archer of Coalville; James (Colleen) Stringer of Fort Dodge and Roger (Bonnie) Stringer of Pioneer; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

CLARA “MODESTA” STRINGER
She was preceded in death by her parents. Cecilia (Cuff) and Verne Allen; son, David and a sister, Madelyn Kelly.
Clara Modesta Allen was born July 6, 1925 in Fort Dodge. She was raised in Fort Dodge and graduated from Corpus Christi in 1944. During WWII Dess worked for the Fort Dodge Tent and Awning Company. On February 20, 1946 she was united in marriage to Raymond Stringer at Corpus Christi Church. The couple then established their home in Fort Dodge. Dess raised her family and then worked for the Apple Orchard for over 13 years until her retirement. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church, The River Valley Rock Hounds, Legion of Mary, and the VFW Auxiliary. Dess was an avid artist, published poet, and loved to crochet scarves for the needy.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
