REGINA E. MICHELFELDER

Regina Elisabeth (Gandron) Michelfelder, 90, of Fort Dodge, passed away July 5, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. David Grindberg officiating. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

Jean (Gandron) Michelfelder was born on May 7, 1922 in Whitehall, New York. She graduated from Whitehall High School in 1940 and Russell Sage College in 1944 with a B.S. in Nursing. Also in 1944, she married Dr. Theodore Michelfelder in Albany, New York. The couple established themselves in Fort Dodge, Iowa with five children (Theodore, Kristi, Scott, Jeff, and Timothy).

Regina was a devoted wife and sister and an exceptional: mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She volunteered with Hospice of Fort Dodge, Iowa for almost thirty years as well as Trinity Lutheran Hospital Auxilllary. She was a member of Saint Olaf Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents (Medric Gandron and Ada Rondeaux), daughter Kristi Michelfelder, and husband Dr. Theodore Michelfelder.

She is survived by: her sisters (Leola Gandron Mckee and Fay Gandron Terry) of Whitehall, New York, her children: Theodore Michelfelder of Des Moines, Iowa, Scott Michelfelder of Fort Dodge, Iowa, Jeff (wife Sharon) Michelfelder of Rochester, Minnesota, and Tim (wife Ty) Michelfelder of Buford, Georgia, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren: Kimber, Angela, Mollie, Dominic, Natalia, Casey, Jackson, Chad, Liana, Malia, Teag, Nicholas, Maxx and Mitch.

Her authenticity, loving presence, and strong spirit will not only be remembered, it will live on in the numerous lives of those whom she mothered. Memorials may be sent to the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
