Lorna L. Stith, 89, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday July 6, 2012 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 10th at 10:30 a.m. at St Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Grindberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Olaf Cemetery in Bode. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Among the survivors include her husband, Orel of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gusta (Jenson) Haukaas; brothers, Hartwick, Gordon, Glenn Jenson.

Lorna Lucile Jenson was born on January 12, 1923 in Ottosen and was raised in the Ottosen, Bode, and Livermore areas. She attended Maple Lawn School west of Bode, and graduated from Livermore High School in 1941. Lorna then attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City; after which she worked for the U.S. Government for 4 years in Washington, D.C. She was united in marriage to Orel Stith at St. Olaf Lutheran Church and traveled with her husband to Europe while he served with the Armed Forces. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge in 1954. Lorna attended Drake University where she received her liberal arts degree in 1962. She then attended the University of Northern Iowa in Library Science. She worked for the Fort Dodge Public Library for 5 years; was the Librarian at South Junior High for 3 years; and later was the Librarian in Dayton for 10 years. Lorna and her husband Orel also owned and operated Stith's Nursery, south of Fort Dodge, for over 40 years. Lorna was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be left to Friendship Haven.
