Thilges killed in rollover
ALGONA - Daniel Thilges, 21, of Ottosen, was killed in a fatal rollover accident early Saturday morning southwest of Algona.
The accident occurred around 2 a.m. Saturday on 100th Avenue north of 170th St. in Kossuth County, according to the Iowa State Patrol accident report. Thilges was southbound in a 2000 Mercury Sable when he lost control and went into the west ditch. The vehicle rolled several times and came to rest on its top.
According to the report, Thilges was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken by ambulance to Kossuth Regional Health Center.
The Kossuth County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
Dickes remains in serious condition
ALGONA - One woman remains in serious condition after a two-motorcycle crash Saturday.
Tammie Dickes and James Monson were transferred from Kossuth Regional Health Center to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Monson was discharged Sunday, but Dickes is in serious condition, according to a Mayo Clinic spokesperson.
Larry Dickes is in stable condition at Kossuth Regional Health Center, according to Public Relations Manager Joanne Roepke Bode.
Around 1 p.m. Saturday, Larry and Tammie Dickes were stopped on U.S. Highway 18 waiting to turn left into the Fareway driveway when their motorcycle was rear-ended by Monson's cycle, according to the Iowa State Patrol accident report. All three were ejected from the motorcycles.
Motorcycle lands in ditch; two injuries reported
ALGONA - Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday evening northeast of Algona.
Allen Ness, of Sioux Falls, S.D., was driving west on Kossuth County Road P54 where it meets 240th Street around 7:30 p.m. Ness failed to make the curve where the road turns south and landed in the west ditch, according to the Iowa State Patrol accident report.
Ness and his passenger, Peggy Bundy, were taken to the Kossuth County Health Center. They were treated and released, according to Public Relations Manager Joanne Roepke Bode.
