Elsie Mae Carlson, 86, of Fort Dodge, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Fort Dodge with Rev. Erling Shultz officiating. Entombment will be held in the Mausoleum at North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fort Dodge.
Elsie Mae Lande was born January 28, 1926 in Ames, Iowa. In 1946, she was united in marriage to Eugene Francis Carlson in Troy, Kansas. The couple owned a restaurant in Roland, Iowa and later made their home in Ames were they owned and operated Gene's Dry Cleaning. In 1969, they moved to Fort Dodge to be close to family. Elsie worked in the laundry at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge.
Elsie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening with her granddaughter, country music, shopping and ordering stuff from catalogs.

Survivors include her daughters, Debra (Dennis) Lind and Norma (Dennis) Panbecker, all of Fort Dodge; her grandchildren, Cindy Dave and Jason Panbecker; three great-grandchildren Maya, Keegan, and Madyson; and her sister, Betty Manning of Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene on April 16, 2008, her parents, a sister, Selma Scott and her two brothers, Archie and Bayard Lande.
Memorials may be left to the Alzheimer Association.
