To the editor:
I must express my special thanks to the very good-hearted gentleman who paid for my groceries at the Fareway Store July 7.
My debit card, which I had reported in June as lost, somehow surfaced, and so naturally would not work. This card has now been destroyed and a new one is being used.
I asked the clerk to hold my groceries and I would immediately return with my checkbook.
Then this gentleman standing in line next to me, spoke up in a strong commanding voice that he would cover the bill. I objected, but he stood firm. I asked for his name and address. His reply, "consider your Guardian Angel doing it."
So Guardian Angel, thank you again and I pray that your special angel will always watch over you. I intend to continue your kindness to me by helping someone else in need.
