The Fort Dodge City Council is expected to hire engineering firms to handle a pair of major projects when it meets Monday.
The council meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the Municipal Building, 819 First Ave. S., with a workshop discussion about the mobile camera system used for speed limit enforcement. The future introduction of cameras to catch drivers running red lights will also be discussed.
The regular business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. During that session, the council will consider hiring McClure Engineering Co., of Fort Dodge, to design the reconstruction of First Avenue North between Third and Seventh streets. The company would be paid $111,800.
Also, the council will consider hiring Snyder & Associates, of Ankeny, to design storm sewer improvements along First Avenue South on the city's east side. The company would be paid $298,300.
Following the regular business meeting, there will be a workshop on a sidewalk improvement plan.
