Dr. Tim Barry, president of St. Edmond Catholic Schools, has resigned.
His resignation is effective immediately, according to a press release issued by Tim O'Tool, chairman of the St. Edmond school board.
According to the release, Barry submitted his resignation to "pursue other professional avenues." No further specifics were given.
Barry assumed the St. Edmond presidency on July 1, 2011. Prior to his arrival at St. Edmond, Barry, a native of Rock Valley, served as president of Mount Marty College in Yankton, S.D.
Monsignor Kevin McCoy will serve as interim president, McCoy is one of three priests currently serving Holy Trinity Parish, with which St. Edmond is affiliated.
