LUBBOCK, TX - Ann Loomis Knight, age 74, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 after a lengthy illness. She was born on May 18, 1938 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Allen and Susan Loomis. After graduating from high school, Ann attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and Katherine Gibbs School in New York.
On April 1, 1972, Ann married Harry Knight in Dallas, Texas. Shortly thereafter, Ann and Harry moved their family to Lubbock, Texas, where they lived until Harry's retirement in 2001. While in Lubbock, Ann was very active as a volunteer buyer at the Texas Tech Museum Shop. She and Harry loved to travel and loved to discover and acquire works of art while on their travels. Ann's appreciation for various artistic mediums was shared by her husband, and their collection of arts and crafts was a constant source of pleasure for her.
A long-time Episcopalian, Ann was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in New Braunfels.
She is survived by her husband, Harry Knight, daughter Sara Schulenberg and her husband Michael of Plano, Texas; daughter Jennifer Knight, of San Antonio, Texas; and daughter Susan Landrum and her husband McBee of New Braunfels. Ann also has two grandsons, Ansel Schulenberg and Joshua Schulenberg of Plano, Texas.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Allen R. Loomis, Mother, Susan Loomis and brother, Robert A Loomis.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 312 South Guenther Street, New Braunfels, TX 78130. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice or St. John's Episcopal Church.
