Fifth Avenue South crosswalk work set

The south three lanes of Fifth Avenue South between 21st Street and 29th Street have been closed for crosswalk repairs. Traffic is currently head to head in the north two lanes. Traffic control will be changing frequently until the work is completed in two to four weeks from today. All businesses will remain accessible and open to the public. Direct all concerns to the Engineering Department, 576-3601.

Midwest Polka Fest begins Thursday

HUMBOLDT - The 23rd annual Midwest Polka Fest will be Thursday through Sunday at the Humboldt fairgrounds.

Music will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, with $7 admission; 2 p.m. Friday, $10; 11 a.m. Saturday, $14; and noon on Sunday, $11.

On Sunday, there will be a Lions Club breakfast from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and a polka Mass at 10 a.m. featuring Squeezebox. All faiths are welcome.
