Betty D. Lumsden, 87, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Sunday, September 02, 2012 at Tompkins Memorial Health Center.

Funeral Services will be held on Wed-nesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home with Rev. Barbara Huisman officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her daughters, Lloyda Warehime and her husband Jerry of Badger, IA; Gloria Streff and her husband Jack, Deborah Orozco and her husband Joe, Lettie Nissen and her husband Ron, Julie Lumsden all of Fort Dodge, IA; Kathy Wilson and her husband David of Johnston, IA; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lettie (Hamell) Ishmael; husband Lloyd in 2010; brother, James Monroe Ishmael; sister, Lula Porter, and 2 infant grandsons.

Betty Dean Ishmael was born April 3, 1925 in Fort Dodge. She was raised and educated in Fort Dodge. On February 21, 1943 Betty was united in marriage to Lloyd Lumsden in Cheyenne, WY. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker. Betty was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and over the years had been active in several card clubs. She loved to spend time with her family, traveling, attending Iowa Hawkeye Football games; dancing and listening to big band music.
