Three arrests made in alleged meth plot
WEBSTER CITY - Federal prosecutors have charged three people from Webster City with running a methamphetamine conspiracy over the past two years.
Ryan Kern, 44, Alicia Mofle, 25, and Kevin Peterson, 45, all of Webster City, have been charged with one count of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine and one count of manufacture and attempting to manufacture methamphetamine.
Kern and Mofle have also been charged with possession of pseudoephedrine with intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and Peterson was charged with distribution of methamphetamine.
It's alleged that between January 2010 and August 2012 the three conspired to create meth. Peterson is accused of either manufacturing or trying to manufacture meth on Jan. 22, and Mofle and Kern are accused of the same offense on April 24, according to a press release from the United States Attorney's Office, Northern District of Iowa.
Parts of the conspiracy, according to the press release, happened within 1,000 feet of Nokomis Park in Webster City.
Their trial is set for Nov. 5.
Mofle and Kern face between 10 years to life in prison if they are convicted on all charges, and Peterson faces between 20 years and life in prison.
