OSAGE - The Fort Dodge volleyball team went 1-3 at the Osage Invitational on Saturday.
The Dodgers (5-10 overall) posted their lone victory against Mason City (21-17 and 21-19).
Fort Dodge, which placed third in pool play, suffered its losses against No. 3 (Class 5A) Ankeny (21-6 and 21-8), No. 1 (2A) Dike-New Hartford (21-10 and 21-11) and Decorah (25-17, 17-25, 15-6).
Lexi Astor (16), Ashley Altman (8) and Tiana Mericle (8) led the way for the Dodgers in the kills category.
Maddie Egli (21-for-21) and Mariah Knutson (14 of 14) were each perfect from the service line for FDSH. Egli also contributed 30 assists, while Mericle notched nine blocks and Altman had two. Molly Matthes chipped in an average of over two good passes per set.
"I saw a lot of good things," said Fort Dodge head coach Toni Cochrane. "By the end of the day, we were playing with more energy and continuity, which is what it takes."
Next outing for the Dodgers is Tuesday at Des Moines North.
