DES MOINES - The Fort Dodge volleyball team made quick work of Des Moines North Tuesday night.
The Dodgers (6-10 overall) swept away the Polar Bears by scores of 25-13, 25-10 and 25-14.
Kari Grindberg paced FDSH in both digs (8) and passing.
Mariah Knutson also went 9-for-10 serving with five digs, while Maddie Egli (14) and Abby Shimon (8) led the way in assists.
Ashley Altman added 10 kills, and Lexi Astor finished with nine kills for a hitting percentage of over .400.
"We played really well and were aggressive at the net," said Dodger head coach Toni Cochrane. "We were strong digging and passing the ball, too, which is what it takes to keep improving."
In freshman action, Fort Dodge prevailed by scores of 25-7, 25-8 and 25-8.
Next outing for the Dodgers is Saturday when they host their annual Jackie Wilde Invitational. FDSH will square off with No. 4 (Class 5A) West Des Moines Dowling in their opener at 9 a.m.
