HUMBOLDT - Humboldt firefighters will participate in a fundraiser called "Fill the Boot" from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 7 to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Firefighters will be at the four-way intersection of Iowa Highway 3 and U.S. Highway 169 with their boots accepting donations from motorists and citizens.
Last year, Humboldt firefighters raised $2,109 for MDA.
MDA helps people affected by any of 43 neuromuscular diseases.
