JOLLEY - Morison Junior Ellis 84, of Jolley, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Shady Oaks Care Center, in Lake City. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, Jolley, with Military Graveside Rites by the Rockwell City Veterans Organization. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City.

Junior is survived by his wife Norma Jean; children, Steven (Sue) Ellis of Storm Lake, Morrison Eddy (Linda) Ellis of Rockwell City, and Becky (Dave) Haberl of Jolley; 8 grandchildren; 13great-grandchildren; and sister Mary June Nammany of Manson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morison S. and Anna (Rath) Ellis; and brothers, Donald, Cecil, and Leslie Ellis.

Morison Junior Ellis was born November 6, 1927 on a farm south of Pocahontas. As a youth, he moved with his family to a farm south of Jolley. Junior attended country schools, and Jolley High School. Junior served in the United States Army, during World War II, in Japan, and was honorably discharged in 1947. On October 3, 1948 he was united in marriage to Norma Jean Junkman. The couple made their home on the family farm near Jolley. Junior was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and had served on the Church Board. He also had served on the Jolley Elevator Board. Junior enjoyed tinkering with crafts, working with his hands, and wintering in Texas. He also had a passion for International tractors.
