Tim Walsh and Justine Smith, daily choices supervisor at Rabiner Treatment Center, help unload donated furniture Wednesday at the former Fareway building from a White Transfer and Storage truck that had been donated for the work. The donated items will be distributed to families in need by the local Bridging the Gap program, which helps make sure those families have basic household essentials including beds, tables and other furniture. Mary Jo Wagner, development coordinator for the Fort Dodge Community Foundation and United Way, said Bridging the Gap will pick up donations to its program as long as they are within the city limits of Fort Dodge. To arrange a donation or for more information about the program, call 573-3179 or 955-8880.
