To the editor:
Seldom do we have an opportunity to go back and correct a mistake ... it works fine on the computer, but not so well in the workaday world. Now we have that opportunity at hand.
A few months ago, outgoing Sheriff Dennis Goeders recommended that we support Todd Suhr for sheriff in the Palo Alto primaries. Due to some difficulties with accessibility to polling places, Todd was defeated in the primary election. He has been placed on the ballot by petition, Watch for his name on the ballot.
While all of the candidates are good men, Todd Suhr is uniquely qualified to become our sheriff. He has over 28 years of experience; with the most experience of any candidate in actual courtroom work prosecuting offenders. He has cleaned up many cold-case files. He has received more awards than any candidate.
Somehow as we enjoy the serenity of our homes each evening, we forget there are those who do not have our best interests at heart ... the criminal element at work in Palo Alto County, Iowa. Sheriff Goeders and Todd Suhr have worked as a team to keep our homes safe and secure.
Take time to research the candidates at: www.toddsuhrforsheriff.com so you can make an informed decision ... then vote for Todd Suhr for sheriff on Nov. 6.
