Mary C. English, 87, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Tuesday, October 09, 2012 at the Bickford Cottages.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Chris Miller, Mary's grandson, officiating. Burial will be at St. James Cemetery near Clare. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at Corpus Christi Church. Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home is serving the family.

Survivors include her sons, John English of Fort Dodge; Timothy English of Council Bluffs; Phillip English of Omaha, NE; daughters, Judy Miller of Solon; Martha Hughes of Olathe, KS; Mary Cass of Fort Dodge; Beth English of Dubuque; Sara Marsh of Brainerd, MN; Kathleen Kauble of Coralville; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; brother, Harold J. Bemrich of Dallas, TX; sister, Monica Somers of Fort Dodge; sister-in-law, Theresa Reinders of Fort Dodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Burke Bemrich, husband, Robert on June 23, 1983, twin sons, Richard and Robert, grandson, Jeff Marsh; sisters, Helen Schrieber, Marie Daniel daughter-in-law, Linda English.

Mary Colleen English was born on December 8, 1924 in Clare, IA. She attended St. Matthew's School and graduated in 1941. She then attended the St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Fort Dodge and graduated in 1945. Mary was employed in private duty nursing care and also raised her children. From 1965 to 1985 she was employed with Trinity Regional Medical Center. On October 2, 1945 she was united in marriage to Robert L. English at Corpus Christi Church and the couple made their home on a farm near Clare. In 1969, the couple moved to Fort Dodge. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Ladies Guild, Catholic Daughters of America, and the Fort Dodge Bridge Club.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
