ROCKWELL CITY - Carl R. Bottin 88, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Sunny Knoll Care Centre, Rockwell City. His wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, with Pastor James Hoover Mossman officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Palmer & Swank Funeral Home, Rockwell City. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
Carl is survived by his daughter, Carol (Don) Presley of Lake City; granddaughters, Robyn Davis of Sac City, and Jennifer Steinkuehler of Fort Dodge; seven great-grandchildren, Macie, Brennan, Makinnon, Jaelyn, Jadyn, Jacey, and Ja'Leya; and half-brother George Bottin of Seattle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lena Buske Bottin; step-mother Clara Bottin; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers.
Carl Robert Bottin was born November 30, 1923 at Gilmore City, Iowa. He graduated from Gilmore City High School, with the Class of 1943. On June 27, 1945 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Cafferty at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge. The couple later divorced. Carl worked at International Harvester, Schultz Electric, and the Calhoun County R.E.C., all in Rockwell City. Carl was a faithful member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
