Toastmasters contest winner captures two titles

ROCKWELL CITY - Sioux City Toastmaster Michelle Holmes won both speaking competitions in the Division A Toastmasters Conference on Oct. 6 in Rockwell City. Holmes placed first in both the Humorous Speech and Evaluation contests.

Holmes will compete for the title of Champion Speaker against winners from the four other Divisions at the District Conference, Nov. 9-10 in Davenport.

Other Evaluation contestants were Stephanie Hill of Webster City and Sherrill Marske of Sioux City. Other Humorous Speech contestants were Diane Mattke, of Fort Dodge, and Ann Kock, of Sioux City. These Toastmasters reviously competed and won in their clubs and area contests to qualify for the division level. Division A includes roughly the western third of Iowa.
