To the editor:
Jeff Burke of the Barnum Volunteer Fire Department is a true hero. At the sacrifice of his own safety, he pushed the cart I was on out of the way and in doing so he was trapped between two emergency vehicles and crushed. He took the full brunt of the accident in saving my life. He was indeed, my guardian angel that day and I am so sorry this accident occurred.
In addition, another ambulance attendant, Terry (unfortunately I don't know his last name) was injured as he also grabbed the cart I was on. My many "thanks" to you Terry.
Thank you seems like such an inadequate phrase when a person saves your life, but "Thank You" so very, very much Jeff. You are a real hero.
