River Ridge Apartments, on the Friendship Haven Campus, 420 Kenyon Road, will hold a grand opening and be open for public tours Oct. 28.
A Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance ribbon cutting will be held on Thursday.
The events will showcase the newest living option on the 60-acre retirement campus which originally opened more 60 years ago.
The 56-apartment, three-story building includes four floor plans of the studio and one-bedroom certified assisted living apartments with choice-based services to maintain the highest level of independence. All of the kitchens are furnished with a refrigerator and stove, while there is a communal dining room that provides a noon meal plus a continental self-serve breakfast. Each apartment has supplemental storage, with the option of parking in an underground garage.
Tours will also feature the Ann Smeltzer Creativity Room, the Wellness Center's Spa, fitness studio, gym and Aquatics Center, the Fireside Library, Celebration Center, the Hearth Dining Room, billiards room, Henrietta's Garden and Pocket Door Gifts.
Parking is available north of the Kenyon Place entrance and at the Opera House on the Fort Museum Road with shuttle service to the Kenyon Place entrance.
