Stop domestic violence

October 23, 2012

To the editor:

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Please remember to thank those who advocate, educate and legislate. They help make the difference between a victim and a survivor. Domestic violence doesn't always leave visible marks. Silence condones the violence. Domestic violence is totally preventable. Educate yourself and the youths in your life about healthy and unhealthy relationships. Let them know what to do if they find themselves in an unhealthy relationship. We need to stand up against domestic violence. Together we can make sure no man, woman, or child ever lives in fear again. The National Domestic Violence Hotline is (800) 799-7233) or TTY (800)787-3224. The website is www.thehotline.org.
