Cheerleaders from six area high schools will be among those competing Saturday in the Triton Cheerleading Challenge at Iowa Central Community College.
Doors open at 8 a.m. Admission cost is $5; children 4 years old and younger will be admitted free.
Last year, more than 1,000 spectators attended the event in Hodges Fieldhouse.
Stunt teams from Prairie Valley will compete at 9:16 a.m. and 9:22 a.m., and the Prairie Valley cheerleaders will compete in the Class 1A High School Division at 10:30 a.m.
A South Central Calhoun stunt team is scheduled at 9:22 a.m., and the Titans will compete at 10:45 a.m. in Class 2A.
Humboldt stunt teams will compete at 9:34 a.m., and 9:37 a.m. In Class 3A , Humboldt cheerleaders are set to compete in at 11:10 a.m.
Fort Dodge stunt teams are scheduled at 9:43 a.m. and 9:46 a.m. At 12:10 p.m., Fort Dodge is entered in coed competition.
Southeast Webster-Grand cheerleaders are scheduled at 10:15 a.m. in Class 1A, and St. Edmond at 10:40 a.m. in Class 2A.
All-Star Division competition will begin at 3 p.m.
Teams from Woodward Granger, Charles City, Dallas Center Grimes, North Scott, Ames, Center Point-Urbana, Marion, Northwood-Kensett, North Union, West Fork, Norwalk, Waverly-Shell Rock, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, Carlisle, Des Moines Dowling, Urbandale, Des Moines Lincoln, West Des Moines Valley, Johnston and Linn Mar are also expected to compete.
