Thirty five students from Fort Dodge Senior High auditioned for the 2012 Iowa High School Music Association's All-State Music Festival. Eleven Dodger musicians were selected as All-State representatives. These students constitute the upper half of the top one percent of all choral and instrumental musicians in the state.
The band, orchestra and choir students gave a 7- minute "blind" audition after spending the previous eight weeks preparing their individual and group material.
The students chosen will perform at the All-State Music Festival on Nov. 17 at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. All seats for the concert are reserved, and tickets cost $18 each and can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com, search for Iowa All-State. The concert will be taped by Iowa Public Television and will air on Thanksgiving Day on IPTV.
