Officials with the Webster City Police Department said today that all Webster City schools are on lockdown.
A police spokesman said the lockdown was due to a child custody dispute and the lockdown was put in place as a safety precaution.
The school district sent out an automated voice messages at 10:25 a.m. telling parents of the incident. A later text message at 10:44 a.m. said "The District has become away of an online domestic threat. As a precaution, Pleasant View is in lockdown. Law enforcement is present."
Police said they are trying to ascertain additional information.
