Prefers Romney-Ryan

To the editor:

The next election for president of the United States is (Tuesday) and may well affect history, as we know it. The clear choice is Mitt Romney. I am writing this letter to address the dire situation that we are in. I speak as a conservative. However, I also speak as a taxpayer, a college student and one who worked on a Democratic campaign in 2000.

When President Obama was elected the economy was in trouble. However, during his campaign he acknowledged these problems and said that he would fix them. Instead, nearly four years later, due to the president's broken promises and policies we have 23 million people struggling to find and sustain work and our economy has been nearly stagnant at a dismal growth rate of 2 percent a year.

Mitt has worked both in the private and public sectors working to help create jobs, grow the economy of Massachusetts and helped the Salt Lake City Olympics to be a success. While Mitt was governor of Massachusetts, the state had one of the lowest unemployment rates, some of the highest K-12 test scores and he was able to work amiably with a legislature that was 87 percent Democratic.

The Romney-Ryan team has shown time and again that they have a clear vision for America. Their plan includes getting Americans working again; incentivize small business in order to allow for real job growth; utilizing North American energy reserves; and decreasing our national deficit. Gov. Romney wants to free us from the burden of Obamacare and replace it with improved care and better cost controls.

The choice is clear. Do we want to re-elect someone who has failed to fulfill every promise he has made? Or do we want to elect a leader with a clear and proven record?

We cannot afford four more years of the same.

We must choose change. We must trust the proven and not just rely on the same "Hope and Change" that has only made things worse over these last four years. My fellow Americans, it is time to put "hope" aside and start trusting the team, no our team, that has shown they have what it takes to put this great nation back on track.
