To the editor:
Over the past month, our Clarion ecumenical community has met in seven different parishes to pray daily for our nation, as recommended from 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." It has been an awesome experience sharing with fellow Christians and concerned Americans. Although we share many differences in practice, we all share and praise our one true God.
Our leaders also need to reach across the aisles and work together to form agreements, and resolve issues together. There is so much division, finger pointing, violence and abuse. Our unemployment and extreme debt is mind boggling and so scary for our children and future generations. Inability to pass a budget for this past term is a true failure. No business can run successfully without pushing pencils and creating a plan.
Being a Catholic, I feel strongly about pro-life, another reason I am supporting Romney/Ryan. Exercise your right to vote, but please do your homework first and vote your conscience.
I am looking forward to my third medical mission trip to Haiti. Helping in their distress from poverty and corruption is a humbling experience. They are truly grateful for everything. We are so fortunate to live in America, but we all take so much for granted. Count your blessings.
We ask for hearts and minds that will work together to restore unity in "One Nation, Under God, Indivisible with liberty and justice for all." Thank you to the brave military men and women, past and present, who serve and protect us.
Unite us, strengthen us, annoint us. Restore our great USA.
