Democrat Christie Vilsack, of Ames, carried Webster County in the 4th Congressional District race. She beat U.S. Rep. Steve King, R-Kiron, by a margin of about 52 percent to 48 percent.
Democratic President Barack Obama also won Webster County over Republican Mitt Romney by a similiar margin.
