The outdoor warning sirens in rural parts of Webster County are out of service so that their radio receivers can be reprogrammed, according to Tony Jorgensen, the county's emergency management coordinator.

Jorgensen said the reprogramming is necessary to comply with a federal requirement. The sirens will be back in service by early December.

The sirens in Fort Dodge and the other cities in Webster County remain in service.
