Edna Marie Kuhn, daughter of Thor and Olava (Norland) Hagen, was born February 15, 1913 near Cylinder, Iowa. Edna graduated from Emmetsburg High School. She then taught in two rural schools.
Edna married Russell Kuhn in February of 1935. They farmed near Cylinder and Rodman until moving to Emmetsburg in the 70's.
Edna was a devoted lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and was involved in several church and community activities. Russ and Edna enjoyed traveling both in the U.S. and trips abroad. For over 20 years they spent their winters in the Valley area of Texas.
Edna passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Lakeside Lutheran Home at the age of 99. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Kuhn, her parents, and six brothers and sisters: Rodella, Thelma, Myrna, Merle, Kenneth and infant sister. She is survived by her children, Ruth Endorf and son-in-law, Verlyn Endorf; her son Ronald Kuhn and daughter-in-law, Linda Kuhn; her 7 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Betty Brennan, many nieces, nephews.
