Verla J. Patterson, 78, of Fort Dodge, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m Tuesday November 13th at First Baptist Church with Rev. James Laupp officiating. Burial will be Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.
Survivors include her husband Frank of Fort Dodge; sons, Steve Patterson and his wife Sandra of Clinton; and Todd Patterson of Fort Dodge; 4 grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Sabin and his wife Georgia of Mission Viejo, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Verle and Ruth (Coleman) Sabin.
Verla J. Sabin was born on August 23, 1934 in Fort Dodge. She attended schools here and graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1952. On November 29, 1953 she was united in marriage to Frank Patterson at First Baptist Church. The couple made their home in Fort Dodge. While Frank was serving with the U.S. Navy the couple lived in Honolulu, HI. Verla worked for the Public Loan Association and Travel and Transport as a secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Quilt Club.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
