CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Central women's basketball team pounded Joliet by a 70-41 final at the Kirkwood Classic Saturday.
Katie Dentlinger led the way for the Tritons (3-1 overall) with a game-high 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Rebecca Easton (14) and Babaye Oja (11) each scored in double digits as well for Iowa Central, which raced out to a 36-12 halftime lead and never looked back. Oja also pulled down five boards.
"We came out on fire and were up 20-2 at the nine-minute mark," said ICCC head coach Craig Carlson. "Coming off a huge win (Friday) over (No. 4 NJCAA) Kishwaukee, we still had a little more gas left."
Next action for the Tritons is Wednesday when they host South Australia for a 7 p.m. tip.
