To the editor:

The Angel Ride to Save the Tatas finished up another awesome year.

On Oct. 14, Michelle Wendt from the Crossroads Mall hosted a walk for us, with many of the mall stores and other people donating items for door prizes and auction items. Thanks Michelle and also to Rusty McNeal for DJing the event that day. A special thanks to all those that came out to walk and donate money that day.

On Oct 29, the Trinity Regional Medical Center Oncology Department was presented a check for $37,536.84 to help with uninsured expenses for breast cancer patients.

We couldn't have made this total without the help and support of the public and businesses here and around the Fort Dodge area.

Again I would like to thank Sally Hart of Community Tap and Mychael Mueller of Sneakers for helping this year. Also to the stops that helped us along the way this year, Lynchs in Rockwell City, Vikings Bay in Sac City, Watering Hole in Fonda, Sportster in Newell, Shoreside in Manson. A big Thanks to Kathy Reimers at Personality-tees in Humboldt for helping us out with the shirts this year. And to Party Productions for helping us sell the shirts. They still have Angel Ride shirts of all sizes there. These people were great to help us out.

A special thank you to our special Angels Cathy Moore, Dawn Powell, Tammy Obrien, Tammy Grove, Teresa Trueblood, Jeanna Black, Kim Eastwood, Marilyn Meiers, Deb Schuh, Karen Little, Mel Patterson, Megan Hanna, Lana Wendland, Robyn Dodson, Judy Winninger, Jody Reekers and to Shirley Hottman who started this event six years ago. Also to the many people that helped that are not on the committee, hope we can get your help again next year. It takes many people to make an event like this work. We could not have done this without each and every one of you.

Thanks again everyone near and far for your ongoing support in helping us help the uninsured patients with breast cancer.

Every penny counts and every patient matters. Thank you for all your support. Remember: "Early detection saves lives."
