LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Ralph Dana Wilson, 63, of Las Cruces, NM, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, completed his earthly journey, passing away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, with his wife Pam by his side. He married Pamela Carstens on July 9, 1968.
Dana was born in Spencer, IA, on November 3, 1949, to Ralph P. and Mary M. Schoenewe Wilson. He spent his childhood in Everly, IA, moving with his parents to Fort Dodge in 1966 and graduating from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1967. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, and served honorably from 1967-1971, during which time he was stationed out of Mayport, FL. He then joined his father in partnership as co-owner of Kautzky Sporting goods in Fort Dodge. During his lifetime, he was employed in several positions: as a patrolman with the Fort Dodge Police Department; as owner and operator of an automotive parts business in Mason City; as an automotive parts store manager in Lakewood, CO; and as a sales & leasing manager for International Harvester trucks in Fargo ND. He was most proud of his service of 22 years as a deputy with the Webster County Sheriff's Department, retiring as a lieutenant in June of 2007. In March of 2011, he and Pam moved to Las Cruces, NM.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Pam of Las Cruces; son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Carol of Raleigh, NC; son Jim of Ft Dodge; two grandchildren, Robert and Danielle Wilson of Pomeroy; sister, Diana Palluck of Greeley, Co, as well as many extended family members and friends.

As Dana instructed, cremation has taken place and there will be no public service. Private family committal service will take place at a later date.
The family appreciates all the support and kindness shown during this past and most difficult year while dealing with Dana's cancer diagnosis.
