DES MOINES - In their first road contest of the season, the Fort Dodge boys struggled to find any kind of offensive rhythm and dropped a 58-42 contest to Des Moines North on Tuesday night.

The Dodgers (1-1 overall), who were coming off a double-digit victory over Webster City on Monday night, shot only 33 percent from the field and hit just one free throw in seven attempts against the quicker Polar Bears.

"Our offense really sputtered,'' said FDSH head coach Tom Daniel. "We basically showed no intensity and no desire. As a coach, I didn't push the right buttons. It starts with me.

"We have a lot of work to do heading into (Tuesday's game against West Des Moines) Dowling.''

The Dodgers also couldn't match the Polar Bears on the glass, as North outrebounded FDSH by a "two to one margin at least,"?according to Daniel.

"They were getting easy putbacks,'' Daniel said. "They beat us up on the glass and we weren't putting bodies on guys.
