SPENCER - The Fort Dodge swim team got off to a strong start on Tuesday, going 1-1 in a triangular at Spencer.
The Dodgers beat Spencer 68-26 and lost to Carroll 53-41.
"We were getting started and bouncing our lineup around,'' said Fort Dodge head coach Joel Greathouse. "We are trying to fill some spots.
"I can't complain, we stayed competitive and got the jitters out. For half the team, it was their first meet experience."
Cal Brandt led the Dodgers with two individual titles and part of a winning relay squad.
Brandt won the 200 individual medley (2:17.03) and the 100 backstroke (1:02.14).
Austin Sanford, Brandt, Rob Leigh and Josh Lee won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:37.13.
Josh Lee won the 100 breaststroke (1:09.90).
The 200 medley relay of Brandt, Leigh, Lee and Sanford was second in 1:49.71.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Tucker Van Wey, Alex Hage, Nick Pecka and Caleb Asay were second in 3:51.40.
Rob Leigh was second in the 100 butterfly (1:00.46) and Hage was second in the 200 freestyle (2:00.38).
Finishing third for the Dodgers was Rob Leigh in the (24.58 in 50 freestyle), Sanford (56.72 in 100 freestyle), Hage (5:42.46 in 500 freestyle) and Nick Sanford (1:13.12 in 100 breaststroke).
The 400 freestyle relay team of Aaron Brandt, Seth Dolan, Isaac Poldervaart and Zach Provin were third in 3:56.02.
The Dodgers are back in action on Saturday when they head to the Boone Invitational.
